I created a facebook page about the crusades that are filled with accounts from the Muslim's point of view. I am having difficulty finding information that is specific to each crusade however. A lot of the information I've found has to do with "the crusades" in general. This makes it difficult to pinpoint when each thing happened and if it occured during the specific crusades I am speaking about.
I think I might have a solution to your problem! I have found it helpful to search "The # Crusade" at sweetsearch.com, I think it will give you some good information to work on, and many of the sights are verified to be reliable, so you don't have to worry about those website that just don't look that reliable. Here is a link of a website I have found to be really helpful: http://www.historyofwar.org/articles/wars_crusade3rd.html , it a good overview of the third crusade (which I am doing too). I also have a great book that has alot of information which you can feel free to email about me if you find yourself stuck.

Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI am very interested to see how your final project comes out in the form of a Facebook page. I had initially planned to do that but I thought it would be hard to create fake Facebook accounts to represent Muslims during the 1100s...I'm sure you found a better way than I had in mind. I agree with you in regards to a lot of information being about the crusades in general and not specifically the Muslims' perspectives. However I found that sweetsearch.com was a helpful source. Again I look forward to seeing the page!
